The Para's are up in arms (no pun intended - Ed) about the shortage of material for making their parachutes. This is a total cock-up said Major Bellyache of the fifth regiment, this is typical of the MoD, a useless bunch of nancy boys all.
A civil servant whistleblower at the MoD said this was just the tip of the iceberg but ministers were considering a novel solution. The whistleblower, who does not want to be named, said from his house at 13 The Bismark, West Hinq, Dorset, "during WWII parachutes were often used to make knickers for ladies, ministers are going to appeal for ladies to pass their knickers to the MoD so they can have parachutes made for the boys, brilliant eh!".
Junior Minister Julian-Inverted Snobry confirmed such a scheme was in place, however they were only looking for silk knickers, this he said would limit the scheme to well to do ladies and David Beckham. He was keen to stress that no kek's or part-soiled boxers would be taken no matter how desperate things became!
