Charles Kennedy today launched the 2009 election campaign.  "We need to get in early this time so people can get used to us being in politics" said an upbeat Kennedy.

To go with the launch the Lib Dems are staying with their previous logo's and motto's to save on expenses, although the odd one or two have been revamped to reflect their chances in the polls.

Kennedy, seen left describing the Lib Dems chances next time around, was preaching to the converted of course.

The media - a photographer and journalist from Manchester Evening News and a reporter from Gundog Weekly - hung on every word (though ten minutes in and they were wishing they had hung from the nearest beam).

The Lib Dems roll on to Yorkshire next, hey up missus lock up yer daughters.
